Jumbo opens its second Foodmarket in Amsterdam

By December 18, 2014On homepage

A unique old industrial building on the former Stork site next to the Kromhouthallen in Amsterdam-North has been transformed into a state-of-the-art Foodmarket. With a size of 2,600 square metres, this new Foodmarket is similar to the Jumbo Foodmarket in Breda, which measures 6,000 square metres.

Just as in the case of the Jumbo Foodmarket at Breda, FAAY VP 70 partition walls were used in this building. 1,300 m2 of flexible wall elements, which can be reassembled, but are nevertheless sturdy.

Screw retention
The wall panels have a flax fiber core (a flax by-product) with a plasterboard top layer on either side. The solid core gives excellent stability and constructive strength, high impact strength and maximum screw fixation: screw retention with a release force ranging from 110 kg (ordinary screw) to 230 kg (coach screw without plug)! This type of screw retention offers a variety of possibilities, which combined with the built-in cable ducts and ease of dismantling, ensures that the layout possibilities are extensive.

Speed is a must
Speed was also a must for this project. Faay panels are cladding, cavity filling and framework in one, which makes quick (and therefore cost efficient) assembly possible.
We are proud that Faay has been able to make a contribution to this Foodmarket as well. A shop which for 70% consists of a fresh food department with freshly baked rolls, salads, sushi and an extensive range of vegetarian products. Getting inspired, seeing, smelling and tasting. Jumbo not only wants to turn shopping into an experience for its customers but also wants to deliver quality. Faay fully agrees with the latter.

A shop for everyone, affordable and full of surprises every day.
