The problem
With a view of the Dolfinarium, the ‘Hotel Monopole’ lies at a splendid location at the boulevard of Harderwijk. The fine sight of the hotel determines the character of the boulevard.
Extension to and adjustment of the hotel was required to make it meet the demands of this time again. However, this had to be executed in a short time. Just before the tourist season was breaking out, everything had to be operative again.
On the existing joisting of the hotel it was impossible to apply a ‘wet’ system because of the heavy weight. So it was necessary to apply a dry building system.
The solution
Also with a view to the positive experiences of the builder with the assembly speed of Faay® walls, which is very important in this project, the choice was quickly made. Also other aspects of the Faay® products, such as the high fire resistance and good sound-insulating characteristics were very valuable reasons for this project to make the choice. A total of 800 m² of wall of different types has been processed including the IW148 for the partition walls.
